After careful consideration of the important issues facing this state and nation, I have decided to end my campaign for Adjutant General of South Carolina.
I reached this decision after consultation with my many friends and political supporters. It was obvious that a statewide campaign would be expensive, difficult,
and would not result in me becoming the nominee of the Republican party.
While I am willing to work hard and put my own money into something I believe strongly about. I did not feel comfortable asking others to put up money for a campaign that was always a long shot.
I still believe it is very important to have the South Carolina National Guard in South Carolina, not Afghanistan. I believe it is important to take care of our veterans, our National Guard troops, their families, and their communities. It is important to re-build, train, arm, and properly equip the South Carolina State Guard. It is important that the Military Department of South Carolina works closely with law enforcement on issues like illegal immigration and emergency preparedness. Last, but not least, the sovereignty of the state of South Carolina pursuant to the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution is vitally important.
I now believe that the best way to address all of these issues is to elect my good friend Dean Allen as our next Adjutant General. Dean shares my concerns for all of those issues. He is also well qualified to serve as our Adjutant General. Dean has received an impressive number of endorsements from law enforcement, military officers, Republican party officers, anti-illegal immigration activists, and he has an effective state wide campaign organization. Dean also has serious fund raising going on. His Machine Gun Socials, have received national media coverage and he has raised more money in each of the last two quarters than anyone else running.
With our help, Dean will win the Republican nomination. I am giving my endorsement, and my 100% support to Dean Allen. I urge each of you to join me in the campaign to elect Dean Allen by volunteering and supporting the campaign financially, as I am now doing. Check out Dean's website at www.VoteDeanAllen.com."
